Manipur BJP MLA Valte's Burial Delayed Amid Demands for Probe and Separate District

Manipur BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte, who died on February 20 after nearly three years of treatment following a 2023 assault by a mob, remains unburied as his family and tribal groups demand a separate district for the Zomi community and an NIA or CBI probe into his death. His body was moved to Churachandpur district morgue pending a post-mortem, with final rites delayed amid ongoing consultations and political demands. Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has paid respects but offered no assurance on investigations.
