
At the Raisina Dialogue, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous systems in future warfare, noting their impact on ongoing conflicts. He emphasized that modern military strength now depends on data, networks, and intelligence alongside traditional platforms. Gen Chauhan also pointed out the significant energy demands of AI-driven systems, suggesting nuclear power and AI complement each other in powering data centers. He acknowledged India is in early stages of AI adoption for defense and stressed the importance of timely and accurate decisions enabled by automation in combat.
