Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled a 58-foot bronze statue of freedom fighter Potti Sriramulu at Shakhamuru Park in Amaravati on March 16, marking his 125th birth anniversary. The statue symbolizes Sriramulu's 58-day fast demanding a separate Telugu state, which led to Andhra Pradesh's formation. The memorial project, costing around Rs 150 crore on 6.8 acres, will include a museum, auditorium, and skill development centre. Tributes were paid across districts, highlighting Sriramulu's role in India's linguistic state reorganization.
