The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has criticized the ruling BJP government in Odisha, alleging a collapse in law and order with 40,947 crimes against women registered in the past 18 months. BJD leader Sasmit Patra cited specific cases and Odisha's ranking as the eighth most crime-prone state. The party also pointed to a significant decline in revenue from major and minor minerals, and the cancellation of 20 recruitment examinations within the same period, attributing these issues to an incompetent administration.
