Madhya Pradesh Faces Controversy Over Tantya Mama Statue Installation

A controversy has emerged in Madhya Pradesh over the installation of a statue of tribal icon Tantya Mama in Khargone. Originally promised as a metal or marble statue costing around Rs 10 lakh, a cheaper fibreglass statue reportedly costing less than Rs 1 lakh was installed instead. The issue, raised by opposition leaders and local authorities, has led to an official investigation amid allegations of corruption and neglect of tribal communities associated with Tantya Mama's legacy.
