Bharat Forge Secures Rs 425 Crore Contract for Indian Navy Gas Turbine Generators
The Ministry of Defence has awarded Bharat Forge Limited a Rs 425 crore contract to supply 12 sets of 1.25 MW marine gas turbine generators for the Indian Navy's Kolkata-class warships. The contract, signed under the Buy (Indian) category with at least 60% indigenous content, will be executed over five years. This marks Bharat Forge's entry into marine gas turbine manufacturing, supporting India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives by enhancing domestic defence production and naval operational readiness through indigenous power systems and lifecycle support.
