Election Commission of India Hosts IICDEM 2026 Conference on Democracy and Election Management

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is hosting the India International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM) 2026 from January 21 to 23 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The three-day event, the largest of its kind in India, brings together nearly 100 delegates from over 70 countries, including Heads of Election Management Bodies, Chief Electoral Officers, and academic experts. Key discussions focus on global electoral issues, innovations, and best practices. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar highlighted the crucial role of Booth Level Officers in maintaining electoral integrity and emphasized inclusive, transparent, and technology-driven election processes, citing Bihar's recent efficient electoral roll purification as an example.
