Himachal Pradesh SDM Warned Over Social Media Product Promotions

Himachal Pradesh's Shimla (Urban) SDM Oshin Sharma, a 2020-batch HPAS officer, received a government warning after promoting nutritional supplements and jewellery on her social media platforms. The posts, which went viral, prompted the Chief Secretary to direct the Shimla Deputy Commissioner to issue the warning and instruct Sharma to refrain from such activities. Following the backlash, Sharma removed the posts and deactivated her social media accounts, though she denied receiving a formal notice.
