The Greater Chennai Corporation has temporarily closed the Victoria Public Hall to visitors, shortly after its inauguration by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on December 24, 2025. A senior GCC official cited State government orders for the closure, with a reopening date to be announced later. The hall, located between Chennai Central Railway Station and Ripon Buildings, underwent restoration costing ₹32.62 crore, initiated in 2023.
