India to Introduce Point-Based Driving Licence System to Improve Road Safety

The Indian government plans to introduce a point-based driving licence system to curb traffic violations and enhance road safety. Announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the system will deduct points for offenses, leading to licence suspension or cancellation for repeat offenders. Targeted safety measures will focus on 100 high-accident districts, aiming to create zero fatality zones.
