Eloor municipality's new chairperson, Laiji Sajeevan, has prioritized scientific waste management, aiming to continue and enhance existing projects. The municipality, which achieved 'waste-free' status in March 2025 through initiatives like waste segregation and doorstep collection by Haritha Karma Sena, plans to create an annual calendar for waste management activities. A bylaw for scientific plastic waste disposal, outlining responsibilities for generators and the civic body, is also in place.
