The BJP has criticized a Muslim group's objections to a singing competition themed on the national song, Vande Mataram. BJP spokesperson Abhijeet Jasrotia stated that those for whom religion is paramount over the nation have the choice to leave India. He referenced historical figures and the partition of India to support his argument. The Muslim group, MMU, had objected to promotional material for the competition, advising the community to avoid such events. BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi also accused the group of inciting trouble.
