
Following a major fire at the Lakshmi Commercial Complex hardware warehouse in Kumbarapet, Bengaluru, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has formed a multi-agency committee to investigate fire causes and recommend prevention measures. The fire, caused by a short circuit, highlighted challenges like narrow roads restricting fire tender access. GBA ordered electricity disconnection for unauthorized buildings, mandated fire safety systems in commercial areas, and plans to install hydrants and CCTV monitoring to enhance fire safety in the old Pete area.
