
In the early hours of February 23, 2026, 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin from North Carolina was shot and killed by US Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy after unlawfully entering the secure perimeter of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Martin carried a shotgun and a fuel can and was ordered to drop his weapons before raising the shotgun. Trump was not present during the incident. The FBI is leading a full investigation, dedicating all necessary resources to the case.
