The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is introducing a new Property Tax Management System (PTMS) to improve tax collection and accuracy. The current system, relying on manual surveys and older software, has led to a significant gap between identified and listed properties, potentially missing around 90,000 structures. The PTMS aims to create a digital database, integrating mapping and area measurements to ensure correct assessment of all properties, including those in newly added villages. This initiative is part of a broader state-wide reform planned for all municipal corporations.
