Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves granted clemency to Maurice Taylor, who received an illegal sentence for a drug conspiracy charge. This follows his brother Marcus Taylor's clemency for a similar illegal sentence earlier this month. Both brothers pleaded guilty in 2015 to conspiracy to sell a Schedule III substance, with maximum penalties of five years. Maurice received 20 years, and Marcus received 15 years. The governor stated that justice denied to one is denied to all, ordering Maurice's release within five days.
