The Arunachal Pradesh government is addressing the shortage of principals in higher secondary schools by temporarily appointing vice principals as principals while seeking a one-time relaxation in recruitment rules requiring eight years of qualifying service. Currently, 100 principal posts exist for 110 schools, with some vacancies, including in Longding district. The government plans to finalize regular postings after the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting and is considering restructuring the Education department, including abolishing the district adult education officer post.
