JNU Student and Teacher Bodies to Hold Public Inquiry Against Vice Chancellor

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) and Teachers' Association (JNUTA) have announced a joint public inquiry against Vice Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, following a student referendum where over 90% of about 2,400 voters favored her resignation. The inquiry, starting Monday at the Sabarmati lawns, will present charges before a panel of public figures. The move follows ongoing protests since February over suspensions of student leaders and controversies including the VC's remarks on UGC Equity Rules, which some deemed casteist.
