Uttarakhand HC Summons Principal Secretary Over Non-Compliance in PTCUL MD Appointment Case

The Uttarakhand High Court has summoned Principal Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram to appear via video conference on March 19 for failing to comply with its February 18 order quashing the appointment of Prakash Chandra Dhyani as managing director of the Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PTCUL). The court ruled Dhyani lacked the required engineering degree per the 2021 appointment rules. Despite this, the state government amended the qualification norms to allow non-engineering graduates and has yet to implement the court's directive, prompting a contempt petition.
