The Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) have announced an alliance to contest the upcoming civic polls in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. This reunion, driven by local party workers' sentiments, aims to strengthen their position in these traditional strongholds. While Ajit Pawar announced the Pimpri-Chinchwad tie-up, Rohit Pawar confirmed the Pune alliance, emphasizing it's for these local elections and Sharad Pawar was not directly involved in the decision-making. Meanwhile, the Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) have also formed an alliance for the Pune Municipal Corporation polls.
