Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife Kalpana Soren and party workers, paid tribute to statehood movement leader Nirmal Mahato on his birth anniversary. Soren garlanded Mahato's statue and stated that Mahato's contributions and ideals continue to inspire the state's youth. Mahato, a co-founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was assassinated in 1987.
