NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has claimed that a chemical plant in Ratnagiri, set up by Lakshmi Organic Chemicals, is using machinery from a controversial Italian firm previously linked to hazardous PFAS chemical emissions. Pawar alleges the plant is now emitting these chemicals and questions regulatory approval. State Industries Minister Uday Samant stated that the specific chemical is not currently being manufactured at the plant and that the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board is verifying the situation.
