Maharashtra Government Mandates Marathi Teaching in All Schools, Warns of Action

The Maharashtra government has mandated Marathi as a compulsory subject for students in Classes 1 to 10 across all schools, including those affiliated with national and international boards. Education Minister Dada Bhuse warned that schools failing to comply may face inspections and strict actions, including possible cancellation of recognition. While Marathi can be taught as a second or third language, its inclusion remains mandatory. The government has urged legislators and the public to report non-compliant schools for enforcement.
