Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Launches 300 New Government Buses to Enhance Public Transport
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inaugurated a fleet of 300 new government buses, including 164 diesel and 136 BS-VI compliant CNG vehicles, at a cost of Rs 127.21 crore. The buses were deployed immediately from major transit hubs like Kilambakkam and Koyambedu to enhance urban and suburban connectivity, reduce waiting times, and modernize the state's public transport system. Vijay also took a ride on one of the buses, interacting with passengers and staff. The government aims to implement tech-driven features such as smart card ticketing and GPS tracking to improve service quality and sustainability.
