India will assume the chairmanship of the Kimberley Process (KP) for the third time, beginning January 1, 2026. This UN-backed initiative aims to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the global supply chain. During its tenure, India plans to focus on strengthening governance, advancing digital certification and traceability, and enhancing transparency. The selection reflects global trust in India's commitment to integrity and transparency in international trade, particularly as sustainable and responsible sourcing gains importance amid shifting geopolitics.
