Violent Protests Disrupt SIR Hearings at West Bengal BDO Offices

Violent protests disrupted Special Intensive Revision (SIR) hearings at Block Development Offices (BDOs) in West Bengal, including Sandeshkhali and Basanti. Mobs vandalised office property and blocked roads amid allegations of official misconduct, delayed hearings, and refusal to accept certain documents as valid proof. The incidents followed earlier attacks at Farakka and Chakulia BDOs. Authorities resumed hearings after police intervention, while political parties blamed each other for the unrest. The Supreme Court has called for transparency and minimal inconvenience during the SIR process.
