Himachal CM Criticizes Previous BJP Government Over Debt and Revenue Deficit Grants

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu criticized the previous BJP-led government for increasing the state's debt despite receiving substantial Revenue Deficit Grants (RDG) and GST compensation from the Centre. Sukhu highlighted that the BJP regime's debt rose from Rs 46,000 crore to over Rs 76,000 crore, while his Congress-led government has focused on fiscal discipline. He also expressed concern over the proposed discontinuation of RDG, emphasizing its importance for the state's finances and accusing the BJP of politicizing the issue and not cooperating to continue the grant.
