
India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of self-reliance, with 22 acceptance of necessity (AoN) approvals for systems worth approximately Rs 1.30 lakh crore. These systems, developed by DRDO, will be manufactured by Indian industries. DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat highlighted these advancements, including systems like the Astra Mk-II missile and integrated drone detection systems, as a 'quantum jump' towards the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision. These approvals mark a crucial step in the defense procurement process.
