Nepal's Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah have formed an alliance, agreeing to present Shah as the party's prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. The deal, outlined in a 7-point agreement, also states that RSP chair Rabi Lamichhane will remain party chairman. Both parties commit to good governance, social justice, and addressing public aspirations against corruption, inspired by recent youth-led movements.
