TVK Chief Vijay Announces Women-Centric Welfare Promises Ahead of Tamil Nadu Elections

Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, TVK chief Vijay announced multiple welfare promises targeting women, including a monthly financial aid of Rs 2,500 for women up to age 60 (excluding government employees), 8 grams of gold and a silk saree as a wedding gift, and six free LPG cylinders annually per family. Additional proposals include free bus travel for women, annual Rs 15,000 assistance to mothers or guardians to prevent school dropouts, gold rings and baby kits for newborns, interest-free loans for women self-help groups, and enhanced safety measures such as smart panic buttons and a dedicated police unit. These promises aim to empower women and address education, health, and safety ahead of the 2026 polls.
