The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has assigned Rakesh Aggarwal, NIA's Special Director General, the additional charge of NIA Director General. This follows the premature repatriation of the incumbent, Sadanand Vasant Date. Aggarwal, a 1994-batch IPS officer, will hold the post until a regular appointment is made.
