On February 24, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) entered Azim Premji University in Bengaluru, protesting an event organised by the Spark Reading Circle discussing the 1991 Kunan Poshpora incident in Kashmir. The ABVP activists allegedly vandalised university property, assaulted security personnel and a student, and raised nationalist slogans. The university denied authorising the event and condemned the violence. Police registered cases against ABVP members for trespass, assault, and vandalism. The ABVP accused the organisers of promoting anti-national narratives, while the university's student council expressed concerns over the FIRs and called for internal resolution. Karnataka officials emphasised protecting free academic discussion and maintaining order.
