Five candidates filed nominations for four Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha ahead of the March 16 elections. The BJP nominated Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar, also backing independent Dilip Ray. The BJD fielded Santrupt Misra and Dr. Datteswar Hota, supported by Congress and CPI(M). With neither party holding enough votes for all seats, the BJP is expected to win two seats, BJD one, while the fourth seat is contested between Ray and Hota, raising possibilities of cross-voting.
