Assam Governor Approves Expansion of Bodoland Territorial Council Executive to 17 Members

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Executive Council in Assam has been expanded from 14 to 17 members following approval by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya. This expansion includes the induction of three Members of the Council Legislative Assembly: Maheswar Basumatary (Goreswar ST constituency), Lakhi Das (Nagrijuli non-ST constituency), and government-nominated member Karmeshwar Roy. The new members are scheduled to take the Oath of Office and secrecy on March 6 or 7 in Kokrajhar, administered by Mukesh C. Sahu, IAS. This move aims to strengthen the BTC's administrative structure ahead of upcoming governance initiatives.
