Assam Government Seeks Data on Residents in West Asia Amid Regional Conflict

The Assam government is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to obtain information on residents from the state living or stranded in West Asia amid escalating conflict. Currently, no official data on Assam residents in the region is available. People from Assam work in various sectors there. The recent attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, including the reported death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have caused widespread flight disruptions and airspace restrictions.
