OBC Bahujan Aghadi to Contest Maharashtra Local Body Elections Over Reservation Concerns

The OBC Bahujan Aghadi Party, led by former MLA Prakash Shendge, announced plans to contest upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Maharashtra to protect OBC reservation rights. Shendge alleged that nearly 99% of the OBC quota has been misused by Maratha, Patil, and Deshmukh candidates using bogus certificates, effectively diluting the guaranteed 27% reservation. He criticized political parties for sidelining OBC workers and called the short election timeline unprecedented. While supporting Maratha reservation demands, Shendge emphasized that OBC quota dilution will not be accepted.
