Delhi High Court Raises EWS Income Limit to Rs 5 Lakh, Orders Health Reforms

The Delhi High Court has approved raising the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) income eligibility for free treatment at government and certain private hospitals from Rs 2.20 lakh to Rs 5 lakh annually. The court directed authorities to publicize this change widely. It also issued a 10-point health reform roadmap addressing staff vacancies, recruitment delays, and diagnostic service deficiencies, seeking detailed reports on the functionality of radiological equipment and urging timely improvements in public healthcare delivery.
