Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has constituted Parliamentary Friendship Groups with over 60 countries to enhance India's parliamentary diplomacy. These groups, led by senior MPs from across party lines including BJP, Congress, and regional parties, aim to deepen dialogue, share legislative experiences, and strengthen bilateral relations. The initiative follows previous multi-party delegations after Operation Sindoor and seeks to complement traditional diplomacy with sustained parliamentary engagement on trade, technology, and global challenges. Notably, some suspended opposition MPs are included, while China and Pakistan are excluded from the groups.
