
Following reports of President Donald Trump undergoing a Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMRI) scan in October 2025, the White House stated it was a standard preventative measure confirming his excellent health. However, Trump later clarified in an interview that he had a CT scan, not a CMRI. A cardiologist explained CMRI provides high-resolution imaging of heart structure and function, useful for assessing heart muscle issues, but is not ideal for detecting early arterial plaque, for which CT scans are preferred.
