Himachal CM Highlights Rising Cloudbursts and Urban Development Initiatives
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the increasing likelihood of cloudbursts in Himalayan states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the Northeast, noting these events now affect lower areas as well. Speaking at a book release in Shimla, he emphasized sustainable development and detailed government projects aimed at urban improvement, such as underground duct systems, water supply schemes, and new townships, while stressing the collective responsibility to preserve the state's natural environment.
