Jaishankar Highlights Multipolar Global Order and End of Single-Power Hegemony at Raisina Dialogue

At the Raisina Dialogue 2026, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that the global expectation of maintaining a fixed world order since the mid-20th century was unrealistic, as power has now dispersed across multiple dimensions. He emphasized that no country holds overall hegemony today, with global influence becoming multipolar and shaped by factors like technology, demographics, and the rise of the Global South. Jaishankar noted that the era of dominant powers making sweeping global agreements is over, and future cooperation will involve temporary, issue-specific compacts among major countries.
