PM Modi Visits Assam, Highlights Bodo Peace Accord and Launches Kaziranga Corridor Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Assam for a two-day tour, highlighting the 2020 Bodo Peace Accord's role in fostering peace and cultural revival in the Bodoland Territorial Region. He witnessed the Bagurumba dance performed by over 10,000 artistes, emphasizing Assam's rich cultural heritage and efforts to gain global recognition. Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Rs 6,957-crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor project aimed at protecting wildlife and improving connectivity, and flagged off two Amrit Bharat Express trains. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised these developments and criticized opposition remarks, underscoring Assam's progress ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
