
Over the past year, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has upgraded 10 sewage treatment plants to reduce waste entering the Yamuna River and improve water productivity. Sewage treatment capacity increased from 707 to 735 million gallons per day, with an installed capacity of 814 MGD. The DJB operates 37 plants and is implementing 35 decentralized STPs to enhance sanitation and public health, benefiting nearly 29.7 lakh residents, including those in unauthorized colonies. Collaboration with Haryana and IIT Roorkee aims to reduce water losses in canals supplying Delhi.
