Over 40 Lakh FASTag Annual Passes Sold Since August Launch, Adoption Reaches 20%

Since its launch on August 15, 2025, over 40 lakh FASTag annual passes have been sold, covering nearly 20% of car users, according to the government. The pass costs Rs 3,000 for 200 toll trips or one year of travel across 1,159 toll plazas nationwide. Users report significant savings and predictable toll expenses. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways noted a 25% decline in cash toll collection and over 15 lakh UPI transactions totaling Rs 19.44 crore, indicating increased digital payments and reduced congestion.
