Telangana Ministers Direct Technical Committee Formation for Singur Dam Safety Measures

Telangana's Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Health Minister Damodar Raja Narsimha and Mining Minister Vivek Venkataswamy, reviewed safety measures at the Singur Dam, a key drinking water source for Hyderabad. They directed the Irrigation Department to form a technical committee to ensure compliance with National Dam Safety Authority standards and to complete canal lining by June 26. The State Dam Safety Review Panel had previously warned of potential embankment breaches, prompting urgent repair and safety initiatives, including work on the Peddareddy lift irrigation scheme and restoration projects in Andole constituency.
