CAG Reports Irregularities in Bihar's Ayushman Bharat and PMAY-G Scheme Implementations

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) reported irregularities in Bihar's implementation of two central schemes. For Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, 595 villages with eligible beneficiaries lacked issued Ayushman Cards, depriving residents of health benefits due to poor communication and monitoring. In the PMAY-G housing scheme, the audit found cases of houses sanctioned to minors without proper eligibility verification and discrepancies in geo-tagging, including houses tagged outside Bihar, indicating lapses in oversight and data accuracy.
