Mizoram to End Services of College Teachers Without UGC NET Qualification

Mizoram's Higher and Technical Education Minister Vanlalthlana announced that the government will terminate the services of college teachers who have not cleared the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (NET) by the end of March. He noted the decision was difficult and clarified that NET was not a requirement at the time of their recruitment. The minister also discussed the regularisation process for teachers hired under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme, stating that administrative details are being finalised and an official decision will be announced soon.
