External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar criticized Pakistan's actions, referring to it as a "bad neighbour" due to its alleged persistent support for terrorism. Speaking at an event, Jaishankar stated that India has the right to defend its people and will exercise it as it sees fit, particularly in response to terrorism. He linked this stance to the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), suggesting that continued terrorism negates the goodwill required for such agreements. Jaishankar also highlighted India's positive engagement with other neighbours.
