Former Indian Navy Chief Admiral Arun Prakash and his wife, aged 82 and 78, have been asked by the Election Commission of India to appear in person to establish their identity as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Admiral Prakash questioned the SIR process, suggesting forms should be revised if they don't elicit necessary information, and noted they were asked to appear on different dates, 18 km away. He stated they would comply with the notice, declining any special privileges.
