
The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) seized over 4.16 lakh litres of suspect or substandard edible oil worth around Rs 6.43 crore during inspections of 64 manufacturing units ahead of Holi. Enforcement actions were taken against 56 operational units, with 206 samples collected for testing. The FSDA also destroyed contaminated food items including khoya, milk, spices, and cheese in various districts, and halted production at a mustard oil unit for suspected adulteration. Additional raids targeted illegal tea warehouses and adulterated products.
